Features of Joy English

Complete Course Planning

The specialty of Joy English’s professional English-learning courses is the planning of teaching materials for children aged 7-12. The content is diverse and practical, focusing on listening/speaking/reading/writing skills and balanced development.

Put children’s needs first for the most effective English learning

Joy English always prioritizes children’s needs, whether it is textbook design or classroom space layout. The purpose is to create a safe and comfortable classroom and learning environment where children can learn and play freely in a bright and open space.

Child-oriented; focus on developing the ability to face the future

Children are the subject of education, so all activities are student-oriented. English is not a subject, it is the language of life. It is necessary to incorporate diverse methods into teaching materials and teaching methods, and cultivate children’s ability to face the future with the highest learning level of entertainment and fun.

Story-based teaching accumulates strength in English

Class is like story time, teaching through English stories to meaningfully present the vocabulary, grammar, and dialogue in the story context, accelerating the development of listening → speaking → reading → literacy → writing for students. By providing a large amount of listening input, children can easily sing and interact with the teacher, enhancing participation in the classroom and improving listening and speaking skills.

All-English learning environment

For effective English proficiency, let children experience English frequently and let English naturally become a part of life for them to fall in love with English.

Services

Communication Book

A complete record of the curriculum, how the students are doing, homework, progress in each class, etc. This helps the parents understand how their child is doing in each class. Parents can also use this book to let teachers know how the students are doing at home. This two-way communication keeps both parties on the same page.

Quizzes and Tests

To ensure that teaching goals are reached in each unit, there are unit quizzes and review tests after every four units, which are used to check on the students’ progress.

Final Exam

Each semester, there is a final test at the end of the semester. The students need to pass the Final Written Test and a one-on-one Oral Test to ensure they are familiar with the class material before they can advance to the next level. The students will then receive a Certificate of Completion.

Vocabulary Test

Vocabulary is a basic skill of English learning. There is a vocabulary test at the end of every semester where the students need to be familiar with all the vocabulary in order to pass.

Listening / Reading Practice

To improve on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, classes provide plenty of listening and reading practice so the students can experience an all-English environment at home as well.

After-class Tutoring

If any students encounter difficulties or require extra help with test material, they can arrange for after-class tutoring to focus on their weak points specifically.
